News: Murphy: Health Care Reform Must be Transparent, Bipartisan

U.S. Congresswoman Stephanie Murphy of Winter Park, Fla., issued the following statement today after House Republican leadership pulled the American Health Care Act from consideration on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives.

Statement from U.S. Congresswoman Stephanie Murphy:

“I believe every American should have access to quality, affordable health care, which is why I’m pleased House leadership pulled this bill from consideration. We must reform the Affordable Care Act, but it should be done in a transparent, bipartisan way that lowers costs and strengthens coverage for all.”

U.S. Congresswoman Stephanie Murphy represents Florida’s Seventh Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. The district includes all of Seminole County and much of northern Orange County, including downtown Orlando, Maitland, Winter Park, and the University of Central Florida. Previously, Murphy was a businesswoman and college instructor who also served as a national security specialist in the Office of the Secretary of Defense where she received numerous awards for her distinguished service, including the Secretary of Defense Medal for Exceptional Civilian Service. Murphy lives in Winter Park with her husband and two children.
