NEWS: Murphy Launches Community Office Hours Across District
Sessions Designed for Those in Need of Help with Federal Agencies
U.S. Congresswoman Stephanie Murphy of Winter Park, Fla., is launching the first in a series of community office hours designed to offer her constituents more convenient options for getting help with federal agencies. During the community office hours, Murphy’s office will travel to various venues and communities across her congressional district and have staff on hand to help constituents who have specific problems with federal agencies. While Murphy has permanent offices in Orlando and Sanford, which are open every day from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., she said the community offices hours are designed to better assist constituents who may have trouble getting to those locations.
“One of my most important duties as your Congresswoman is to step in and help when you’re having problems with a federal agency. My job is to be your advocate,” said Murphy. “I’m taking my office directly to venues and communities across the district because some constituents may have challenges commuting to my Orlando or Sanford offices. From Social Security to the VA to immigration, my office stands ready and willing to help constituents on any federal issue, even when I’m in our nation’s capital casting votes.”
During the office hours, constituents are urged to bring proper documentation to expedite requests. Constituents are also encouraged to visit one of Murphy’s two permanent district offices in Orlando, located at 225 East Robinson Street, Ste. 525, or Sanford, located at 110 W. First Street, Ste. 210, during regular business hours if they cannot attend a community office hours event.
The first three events are listed below and more will be announced as they are scheduled. Murphy added that constituents may get alerts on all upcoming events by signing up for her e-newsletter at StephanieMurphy.house.gov or by following her Facebook page at Facebook.com/RepStephMurphy.
